The Penguins have another off day today before they reassemble in New York for a morning skate tomorrow followed by a nighttime game against the Islanders. They’ve got a busy week…they play home games against the Red Wings on Wednesday and the Devils on Friday before they take on the Bruins in the Winter Classic at Fenway Park in Boston next Monday.
The Pens have sent defenseman Mark Friedman to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, which is a bit of a surprise since Jeff Petry is not eligible to return from long-term injured reserve until January 8th.
