Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi signed 19 recruits yesterday on the first day of the early signing period, but he didn’t take a lot of comfort in it, calling today’s recruiting environment “a mess”, with the influence of the transfer portal, Name, Image, & Likeness deals, and what he called “street agents” trying to sway recruits to one school or another.
Pitt’s recruiting class is rated a modest 48th in the nation by Rivals.com, but that does not include transfers. The highest rated player is four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Neal of St. Francis Academy in Maryland.
The three highest-rated recruiting classes yesterday were Alabama’s, Georgia’s and Miami’s.
