The college football transfer portal continues to grow and yesterday, the Pitt Panthers nabbed a former WPIAL star who’s played the past two seasons with the Florida Gators. Safety Donovan McMillon is coming home to Pitt. He’s a Peters Township graduate who was rated the number 14 safety in the nation coming out of high school. McMillon announced his transfer on his Twitter account yesterday.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
The college football bowl season kicks off today with Miami of Ohio playing UAB in the Bahamas Bowl, kicking off at 11:30 AM at Nassau, Bahamas. Troy and Texas-San Antonio kick off in the Duluth Trading Cure Bowl in Orlando at 3.
There are six bowl games on the schedule tomorrow.
VOLLEYBALL
The Pitt women’s volleyball team dropped out of the NCAA championship pool with a Final Four loss to ACC rival Louisville in five sets. The two teams alternated wins in the first four sets, with the Cardinals taking the first and third and the Panthers winning the second and fourth, but Louisville got on a roll in the fifth set and won it, 15-2. Louisville will play Texas for the NCAA title on Saturday.
