IUP BASKETBALL OPENS CONFERENCE PLAY WITH ROAD TRIP

The IUP basketball teams have an eventful weekend ahead of them as they open the PSAC portion of their schedules.

The women finished their non-conference schedule with a four-game winning streak after beating Ohio Dominican, Davis and Elkins, Rosemont, and Lincoln. Coach Craig Carey said his team is playing a more fast-paced type of game.

Meanwhile, the men finish non-conference play on a five-game winning streak, taking down Concord, Winston-Salem State, Bowie State, No. 20 Walsh, and New Haven. Coach Joe Lombardi says he hopes these wins don’t occupy his players’ mindsets, and that they stay focused on conference play.

Both teams are on the road to start PSAC play. The Crimson Hawks take on Mansfield tonight, then Bloomsburg on Saturday in doubleheader action. Airtime for both Mansfield and Bloomsburg will be at 5:15 on U92.5 FM and U92radio.com.
