Baseball America released its updated Top 10 prospect list for the Pirates yesterday. Switch-hitting catcher Endy Rodriguez tops the list, followed by last year’s first round pick infielder Termarr Johnson. 2020 first overall pick Henry Davis, RHP Luis Ortiz and RHP Quinn Priester round out the Top Five.
In other baseball news, two-time Cy Young winner and Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry died yesterday at age 84. Perry collected a 314-265 record with more than 3,500 strikeouts in 22 seasons. He also mastered the “spitball” among other tactics.
