Pitt’s Calijah Clancy has been named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. The junior defensive tackle is also a finalist for the Outland Trophy as the nation’s best interior lineman and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the best defensive player. Pro Football Focus has named him the best defensive tackle in college football.
Reserve defensive back Khalil Anderson has announced that he will enter the transfer portal. He’s played in only three games in two seasons with the Panthers.
PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS
Penn State junior cornerback Joey Porter Jr. has announced that he will enter the NFL draft next year and will not play in the Nittany Lions’ bowl game. The son of former Steelers Pro Bowl linebacker Joey Porter is rated as a potential number one draft pick.
Penn State freshman running back Nick Singleton has been named Big Ten Thomson-Randle El Freshman of the Year after rushing for 941 yards and ten touchdowns this season. He and fellow freshman Kaytron Allen formed one of the most formidable backfields in college football this year with Allen rushing for 830 yards and nine touchdowns.
