Pitt basketball coach Jeff Capel says his team is learning to talk on the court and the more talking it does, the better play they will get. Capel and the 5-3 Panthers are preparing for tomorrow night’s ACC opener against the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
Capel says 7-1 NC State is the real deal and plays another brand of basketball than the Panthers have faced so far.
Capel has had to rebuild his team basically from the ground up the last two offseasons. He says he has learned you can’t coach today’s young players in the traditional ways.
Pitt is coming off its biggest win of the year, a 29-point thrashing of Northwestern in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. NC State has won three straight after losing for the first time this year to defending national champion Kansas.
