The Steelers take the field in Indianapolis tonight sitting in last place in the AFC North after the Browns beat Tampa Bay in overtime yesterday.
The Bengals topped Tennessee and the Ravens were upset by the Jaguars on a two-point conversion with 14 seconds left, so Cincinnati and Baltimore are tied atop the division at 7-4. For Mike Tomlin’s crew, a win over Indianapolis is a must in order for the Steelers to keep pace with the 4-7 Browns, but it won’t be easy. In two games under new coach Jeff Saturday, the Colts are 1-and-1, beating the Raiders and losing by only a point to 10-1 Philadelphia, a team that beat the Steelers, 35-13.
Linebacker TJ Watt says the Steelers’ defensive game plan tonight starts with trying to handle Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.
Colts quarterback Matt Ryan has regained the starting job and played well after struggling in his first season in Indianapolis. Watt says the longtime Atlanta Falcon still has gas in the tank in Indy.
Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett says he has to make smart decisions tonight.
Running back Jaylen Warren and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon will miss tonight’s game with hamstring injuries and linebacker Robert Spillane and wide receiver Miles Boykin are questionable. Spillane has a back injury and Boykin an oblique injury. The game airs at 6:15 on FM 100.3 and AM 1450 WDAD. Kickoff is at 8:15
