The Pirates have signed some more talent for the team as they have come to terms with veteran first baseman Carlos Santana.
It’s a one-year deal with $6.725 million according to sources close to the team. The deal was first reported by ESPN. The switch-hitting 14-year veteran has a career average of .242 with 1,533 hits, 278 homers and 925 RBIs. Last year, Santana was with Seattle, where he hit .192 during the season.
The agreement is pending a physical.
