The Pitt men’s basketball team improved its record to 3-3 on Tuesday after beating the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, 83-61, at the Petersen Events Center.
Pitt took a slim 35-28 lead at halftime but scored 48 points in the second half while limiting the Knights to 33. Five Panthers scorers reached double figures in the game, including guard Jamarius Burton, who led the team with 18 points. John Hugley followed in with 17.
Coach Jeff Capel said his team played tough defensively against a high-scoring team in FDU.
Pitt returns home Friday night to host William and Mary. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
