Gonzalez played for Bradenton last season and Ortiz played for Altoona and Indianapolis before becoming a rookie sensation late in the year in Pittsburgh,
The team will name its player of the year and pitcher of the year today.
The Bucs also named Jonathan Prieto their Danny Murtaugh Coach of the Year. He worked last season in the Florida Complex League and with the Altoona Curve.
General Manager Ben Cherington yesterday announced that the Bucs will promote long-time minor league coach Mendy Lopez to the Major League staff to assist bench coach Don Kelly with infield defense. Lopez played seven season in MLB, including a stint with the Pirates.
