Pennsylvania State Police and IRMC are warning people about some upcoming emergency response exercises tomorrow on IRMC’s main campus.
The training will be held at IRMC’s Outpatient Services Building, the former Urgi-Care location. This means that the primary care Walk-In clinic in the building will be closed tomorrow morning to allow for the training event, along with several administrative departments. IRMC safety and security officers; IRMC employees; members of the IUP, Indiana and State Police departments, the county sheriff’s office and Indiana County 911 will also take part in the event, including members of the State Police Special Emergency Response Team. This exercise is meant to give participants a chance to practice and hone their response techniques at IRMC.
Visitors may see some law enforcement and emergency services-related activity in the building. People will be asked to follow temporary signs to the parking areas. For assistance, people can call 724-357-7000.
One other note: the emergency department will remain open for medical emergencies and will not be affected by the training activity.
