The Penguins return home tonight to face the Boston Bruins after a bruising five-game road trip to the Midwest and West Coast, where they lost the last four games.
The team put in a rigorous practice yesterday after a detailed video session, and Coach Mike Sullivan was pleased.
Sullivan says the Penguins have so much offensive firepower, they have to guard against breaking down defensively.
Sullivan says the Pens have to strike the right balance between risk and reward when they have the puck on their sticks.
Forward Teddy Blueger appears to be closer to returning to the lineup for the first time since the preseason. Blueger suffered an unspecified injury on September 28th and has not been in the lineup since. He put in a full-contact practice yesterday.
Center Jeff Carter is listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury that Sullivan said was still being evaluated. The Penguins recalled center Drew O’Connor from Wilkes Barre-Scranton yesterday.
Pens/Bruins faces off shortly after eight o’clock. The airtime on 92.5 FM U92 and the U92 Sportschannel is at seven.
