VOLLEYBALL
The District 6 Volleyball Tournament got underway yesterday and the United girls were knocked out of the bracket by Claysburg-Kimmel, 3-2. Claysburg-Kimmel will move on to face Heritage Conference champion Homer-Center on Monday. Bishop Guilfoyle downed Ferndale, 3-0, and will play on Monday against Portage. In the top half of the bracket, Mo Valley beat Juniata Valley and will take on top seed West Branch on Monday, while Glendale earned a second round game against Bishop McCort with a win over St. Joseph.
In the WPIAL playoffs, Thomas Jefferson downed Indiana, 3-1.
SOCCER
District 6 soccer action tonight includes a Boys Class A game between second seed United and Bishop Carroll at Richland at 8 o’clock, right after top seed Richland plays Bald Eagle Area at 6.
