With Jason Zucker out of the lineup with an undisclosed injury, the Penguins stumbled out of the gate in the first period and lost in the second game of back-to-back games in Alberta, Canada.

Coach Mike Sullivan says the Pens have been an inconsistent team, and not just game-to-game, and it showed again last night.
Sullivan liked the way the Penguins responded to their first period struggles, but that’s not good enough.
Zucker was injured in the Penguins’ Monday night loss in Edmonton and Sullivan said only that he is “day to day”. Forward Jake Guentzel missed his third straight game suffering the effects of taking a slap shot to the head in a game last week
The Pens are off until Friday night, when they visit the Vancouver Canucks. They’ll play in Seattle on Saturday before returning home next Tuesday to play the Boston Bruins.
