The Penguins are on the road at Edmonton tonight.
The Penguins yesterday put Teddy Blueger on long-term injured reserve and recalled forwards Drake Caggiula and Sam Poulin from Wilkes Barre-Scranton. Coach Mike Sullivan said after practice yesterday that Blueger’s status for a return from his undisclosed injury remains unchanged. He also said there is a chance Jake Guentzel could return to the lineup at some point in their five-game road trip, which began Saturday with a win in Columbus. Guentzel took a slap shot to the head against Los Angeles last Thursday night and missed Saturday’s game.
Sullivan says Edmonton is an offensive force, especially when it comes to converting turnovers into points, led by star forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
The Penguins have won four of their first five games and scored six goals in each of them. Sullivan says the number of goals isn’t as important as the way the Penguins have played each game.
It’s an 8 o’clock airtime tonight for the Penguins and Oilers on 92.5 FM U92.
