The Pitt Panthers have been picked to finish next-to-last in the ACC preseason basketball poll, which was taken from 101 media members who were at last week’s ACC Tipoff meetings. Of the 15 ACC teams, Pitt was ranked only above Georgia Tech, and the Panthers had no players on the All-ACC preseason first or second teams and no candidates for player of the year or rookie of the year.
Preseason NCAA number one North Carolina was picked at the top of the ACC followed by Duke, Virginia, Miami, and Florida State. The Tar Heels’ Armando Bacot is the ACC Preseason Player of the Year and Duke’s Dereck Lively II was the conference Rookie of the Year.
