The Pirates yesterday claimed catcher Ali Sanchez off waivers from Detroit and relief pitcher Beau Sulser off waivers from Baltimore.
The Bucs had one spot open on the 40-man roster, and both Sanchez and Sulser were added to it, with catcher Jose Godoy designated for assignment.
Sulser is a veteran of the Pirates’ minor league system who made ten appearances in the big leagues between the Pirates and Orioles in 2022.
