Rather than basking in the afterglow of their upset win over Tampa Bay, the Steelers were dealing with a sobering reality yesterday in their locker room…death threats against guard Kevin Dotson for committing three penalties in the game. Dotson said it would not alter his approach to the game, other than trying to fix the mistakes that he made.
The Steelers will have the day off today and coach Mike Tomlin will hold his weekly news conference at noon. The first workout of the week will be tomorrow, and it does not appear quarterback Kenny Pickett will be able to escape the NFL concussion protocol in time to play this week, meaning Mitch Trubisky will likely start and Mason Rudolph will put on a uniform for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Miami starting quarterback Tua Tagavailoa is ready to get back to work after missing two weeks with a concussion. He said yesterday he will be preparing to start this week.
