VOLLEYBALL
In Heritage Conference volleyball, River Valley edged its record to 7-6 with a four-set victory over Cambria Heights. The Panthers dropped the first game, 24-26, but won the next three, 27-25, 25-19, and 26-24.
TENNIS
The Indiana girls tennis team lost to number three seed Beaver in a road match in the WPIAL quarterfinals yesterday. The #2 doubles team of Grace Cook and Johanna Welch won their match, 6-0, 6-2. Indiana finishes the 2022 season with an Overall record of 9-2, and as the AA Section 1 champs.
JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL
The Indiana Junior High football team beat Elizabeth Forward, 32-22 yesterday. Will Olsen opened the Indiana scoring with a 37-yard touchdown run. Olsen then threw to Xavier Williams for a 25-yard TD and to Josh Reed for the two-point conversion. Williams then threw a pass-back to Olsen for a 50-yard touchdown, and then Olsen hit Williams for a 37-yard score. Indiana’s final touchdown came on a 51-yard Williams-to-Roman Jones pass on a fake punt. For Indiana, Jackson Higgins and Dominic Kowchuck each had two sacks and Dane Yachisko had one. Indiana is 4-3 and will play their final game next Wednesday at Greensburg Salem.
