The Deer Management Plan for White’s Woods is scheduled to come up for discussion at today’s White Township Supervisors Meeting.
The program has come under fire over the last few weeks from several people who believe that the safety of hikers was not sufficiently explained, nor were the dates when bow hunting would start in White’s Woods. Prior to the meeting on September 28th, signs had started to go up near the entrances of White’s Woods saying that bow hunting would be in permitted starting on the first day of bow hunting season, October 1st, but notification of this was not provided to the White Township Superivsors. Since the start date was not officially approved, bow hunting in White’s Woods was indefinitely postponed.
In other business, the supervisors are expected to have further discussion on the swimming pool and dangerous structure ordinance, and will also discuss hanging a commemorative street sign in memory of the late Gilbert Zillner on Kolter Drive.
