WOMEN’S TENNIS
Karolin Kirchtag repeated as PSAC Singles Champion at the final day of conference championships on Monday.
Kirchtag took down Mercyhurst’s Kayla Dean in straight sets by scores of 6-3 and 6-1. She came in as the second seed behind Dean, and took down Millersville’s Maria Ojeda, Kutztown’s Ava Lewis and Mercyhurst’s Roisin Murphy in her path to the PSAC crown.
This marks Kirchtag’s fifth total PSAC Championship. She and doubles mate Natalie Kmoskova made it as far as the semifinals in the doubles tournament.
MEN’S GOLF
IUP men’s golf finished fourth at Bloomsburg’s Husky Invitational at Frosty Valley Resort on Monday.
The Crimson Hawks posted a total score of 314, falling just three shots shy of third place.
Jack Buccigross finished inside the top 10, with a four-over 76, good for a seventh-place tie. Guillermo Salazar fired a 76 and tied for 13th. Shaun Fedor and Cameron Gerue tied for 15th after each shot a 79.
Next up for the Crimson Hawks is the PSAC Championships on October 14th.
