Izzy Abanikanda broke Tony Dorsett’s 47-year-old school record by rushing for 320 yards in Pitt’s 45-29 win over Virginia Tech yesterday. Abanikanda also tied the 112-year-old school record of Norman Budd with six touchdowns in a single game.
Abanikanda scored all of Pitt’s touchdowns on runs of 38, 17, 29, 5, 10 and 80 yards. Kicker Ben Sauls had the only other Panthers points, with six extra points and a 47-yard field goal.
Pitt is 4-2 and will take a week off before playing Louisville on OCtober 22nd.
