The IUP Crimson Hawks jumped into the top ten of the AP Top 25 Division II poll after Saturday’s win over then-number 6 Slippery Rock. IUP is ranked 8th in the nation. The AFCA coaches poll will be released today.
Slippery Rock dropped 16 slots to number 25.
The only other PSAC team in the Top 25 is Shepherd, up a spot to number 2. Kutztown is number 27 and IUP’s opponent this Saturday, Cal U., is ranked number 31.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL
After losing to Georgia Tech on Saturday, Pitt dropped out of the Top 25 in both the AP and coaches polls. Penn State beat Northwestern, 17-7, on Saturday and the Nittany Lions moved up to number 10 in both polls.
Alabama crushed Arkansas Saturday while Georgia struggled to get by Missouri, and the Crimson Tide jumped over the Bulldogs to retake the top spot in both polls. Ohio State, Michigan, and Clemson round out the top five in both bolls.
Former Pitt coach Paul Chryst was fired by Wisconsin yesterday after the Badgers started the season 2-3. Chryst was 67-26 at Wisconsin. Colorado fired its coach Karl Dorrell after an 0-5 start.
