The Penguins dropped a preseason game to Detroit, 6-2, last night at PPG Paints Arena, and the power play struggled mightily, going 0-for-9 with the man advantage.
Coach Mike Sullivan said the power play is but one aspect of the team that needs work.
Penguins goals were scored by Brock McGinn and Bryan Rust. The team is back on the ice for practice at Cranberry today and will play its next preseason game Saturday afternoon at Buffalo.
Forward Kasperi Kapanen did not play last night with an undisclosed injury. Jeff Carter missed the game for the same reason and first round draft pick Owen Pickering also has an undisclosed injury, although he did participate in the morning skate in a white non-contact jersey.
