The Indiana County Commissioners have entered into a new lawsuit connected with the opioid epidemic .
The new lawsuit was filed against McKenzie Corporation, a global consulting firm that worked with Purdue Pharma and other companies in the chain of distribution of prescription opioids to increase sales. Attorney Robert Marcus of Marcus and Mack, working on behalf of the county, explained the lawsuit that the county and several other counties are filing.
In other legal business, the commissioners entered into an agreement with Babst, Calland, Clements and Zomnir, PC to defend the countyin a lawsuit filed by the Republican National Committee, the Republican Part of Pennsylvania and others concerning a perceived vagueness in Mail-in Ballots. County Solicitor Matt Budash explains.
Budash also said that the county did not have a policy and did not call voters to try to get votes corrected.
The Commissioners also approved four contracts for the ICCAP Food Bank Warehouse Renovation Project on Shelly Drive in White Township. The contracts were for LMJ Contractors for the general construction, Sheesley Electric for the electrical work, Hinkle Plumbing and Heating for the plumbing contract, and MARC service for the mechanical work.
