Just a week before they take on the Pitt Panthers, Georgia Tech fired their head coach, Geoff Collins, in the wake of a 27-10 loss to Central Florida. The Yellow Jackets are 1-3, their only win coming over Western Carolina. Multiple sources also report that athletic director Todd Stansbury will be let go as well. Georgia Tech officials are to meet today to determine who will coach the team on Saturday night at Pitt.
Pitt re-entered the AP Top 25 poll after its 45-24 win over Rhode Island on Saturday. They are also back in the AFCA Coaches Poll. The Panthers are ranked 24th in both polls. Penn State is at number 11 in the AP poll and number 12 in the coaches poll.
The Top 5 remain unchanged in both polls: Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, and Clemson.
Pitt Coach Pat Narduzzi secured a verbal commitment from Florida high school wide receiver Daidren Zipperer on Saturday. 24-7 Sports ranks him a three-star prospect. Zipperer is the seventh Pitt recruit for the Class of 2023 who is from Florida.
