The Browns turned around a 14-13 halftime deficit and shut down the Steelers, 29-17 last night. The Steelers fell to 1-2 and it was the same story against Cleveland as it was last Sunday against New England: the offense couldn’t move the ball and the Browns’ offense wore down the Pittsburgh defense.
Cleveland’s Nick Chubb ran for 113 yards and a touchdown and Amari Cooper caught seven passes for 101 yards and a TD.
The Steelers’ Mitch Trubisky was 20-for-32 for 211 yards and no touchdowns. Najee Harris rushed for 56 yards and a score.
Coach Mike Tomlin says the game was decided in the trenches.
Tomlin says Cleveland won the matchup with the Steelers offense.
Mitch Trubisky was disappointed in the offensive performance in the second half.
Trubisky says it was an incomplete effort by the offense.
Next up, the Steelers will host the New York Jets on October 2nd.
Injured linebacker TJ Watt did some limited drills prior to the game, perhaps most notably wind-milling his arms while backpedaling. That’s significant because Watt is recovering from a reported torn pectoral muscle but he did not appear to be restricted in his motions.
