The Pirates used the long ball last night to down the Reds in the opener of their four-game series.

The Bucs will play two in Cincy today. It’s a day/night doubleheader, with airtime at 12:10 for the first game and 6:15 for the second game.
Johan Oviedo will start for the Pirates in the first game. He was 2-1 with the Cardinals before being acquired by the Pirates in the Jose Quintana trade. With the Bucs, he is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in two starts. Luis Ortiz will make his Major League debut for the Pirates in the second game. He spent most of this season with Altoona and started two games with Indianapolis before being called up to Pittsburgh yesterday. The Reds have not named their starters for the doubleheader.
