Pitt fell to number 23 in this week’s AP poll and number 25 in the AFCA Coaches poll after losing to Tennessee in overtime on Saturday. The Panthers have concerns at quarterback, with Kedon Slovis leaving the game in the first half with an apparent head injury and Nick Patti suffering a leg injury in the fourth quarter. Pitt travels to Western Michigan this Saturday.
Georgia overtook Alabama for the top spot in the poll. The Crimson Tide fell to number 2, followed by Ohio State, Michigan, and Clemson.
In the coaches poll, ‘Bama remains number one, followed by Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, and Michigan.
Penn State entered the AP rankings at number 22 and the Coaches poll at number 23 after beating Ohio U. on Saturday. The Nittany Lions travel to Auburn on Saturday.

Nebraska fired coach Scott Frost after a 1-2 start and a loss to Georgia Southern on Saturday. Frost was 16-31 with the Cornhuskers in four-plus seasons, and only 10-26 in Big Ten games. He was replaced by assistant Mickey Joseph on an interim basis.
