At his weekly media conference yesterday, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi recapped last week’s win over West Virginia and looked forward to this Saturday’s game at Acrisure Stadium against Tennessee.
Narduzzi says his initial feeling that quarterback Kedon Slovis was partially to blame for being sacked five times by West Virginia might have been premature, as pointed out by offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr., who saw that Pitt’s receivers weren’t helping their quarterback very much.
With a bit of sarcasm in his voice, Narduzzi said Tennessee is part of a conference that plays a much better brand of football than he sees in the ACC.
Two players injured in the West Virginia game, running back Rodney Hammond Jr. and defensive end Deslin Alexandre, were listed on Monday’s Pitt depth chart, which indicates they are good to play this week. Narduzzi declined to discuss injuries, citing medical privacy. There was ACC football last night. Clemson beat Georgia Tech, 41-10
