Week Two of the high school football season arrives with games on all four of our Renda Broadcasting stations, including a simulcast of the River Valley/Homer-Center rivalry.
Homer-Center started the season last week with a win over United Valley while River Valley was beaten by Heritage Conference newcomer Portage.
Wildcats coach Greg Page knows his team is in for a battle.
Panthers coach Jess Houser says despite his school being relatively new, the rivalry goes back a long way to when he played for Blairsville.
The Homer-Center/River Valley matchup will air on FM 101.1 and AM 1160 WCCS and on Cat Country, 106.3 FM, with the pregame starting at 6:20. It will also be on Renda Digital TV on our YouTube channel, presented by the Graceton-Coral Sportsmen’s Club, starting at 6:30. The game can also be watched on the home pages of WCCSradio.com and CatCountry1063fm.com.
On 92.5 FM, U92, it’s Northern Cambria at Marion Center. The Colts scored late in the fourth quarter and knocked off defending conference champ Cambria Heights last week while Marion Center fell behind early and lost to West Shamokin.
Stingers coach Adam Rising says his young team needs to find a way to overcome its defensive problems against a versatile Colts offense.
Northern Cambria coach Sam Shutty says the win was nice last week, but his team has to be focused on Marion Center.
The other Heritage Conference games tonight are 1-0 Penns Manor at 0-1 United Valley, 1-0 West Shamokin at 0-1 Purchase Line, and 1-0 Portage with its second straight road game, at 0-1 Cambria Heights.
On WDAD tonight, 0-1 Indiana plays host to former Section rival Knoch at Andy Kuzneski Field.
New Indiana coach Brad Wright says Knoch will be ready so his Indians had better be prepared.
Pregames for both the Marion Center/Northern Cambria game on U92 and the Indiana/Knoch game on WDAD will air at 6:30. Indiana’s game will also be on Renda Digital TV on our YouTube channel, presented by the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home. The game can also be watched on the home page of WDADradio.com.
