The Steelers made several moves ahead of this afternoon’s roster deadline.
Reports surfaced just before noon that the team acquired linebacker Malik Reed from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2023. In addition, the Steelers received a seventh-round pick, also for 2023.
The 26-year-old linebacker recorded 13 sacks in the past two seasons with Denver, eight of which came in 2020.
In addition to the trade, the Steelers released several players in order to meet the NFL 53-man roster deadline this afternoon. The following players cut from the roster is below:
Notable departures include OL John LeGlue, RB Max Borghi, and WRs Tyler Vaughns and Cody White.
More roster moves are expected to come throughout the day prior to the 4 p.m. deadline.
