BLAIRSVILLE BOROUGH POLICE
Blairsville police have charged a man with retail theft at the Fine Wine and Good Spirits Store in the downtown district. Police say that Matthew Oberhaus of Johnstown was in the store on August 22nd when he was seen trying to pocket a bottle of vodka in his hooded sweatshirt. Charges of retail theft were filed before District Judge Robert Bell.
A summary charge of harassment was filed by Blairsville Borough police against a Blairsville man for an ongoing incident involving a store manager. Police say that 42-year-old William Sanders was charged by police after they received a report of harassment at the One Stop located on East Market Street. Police say the store manager had been receiving text messages from Sanders, an ex-employee, and he was told to stop messaging the manager. Sanders sent 11 more messages within a three-and-a-half hour span after the request to stop was sent.
