MLB Pipeline yesterday released its rankings of each Major League team’s minor league system. Baltimore remains at the top with the Dodgers, Guardians, Reds, Diamondbacks, and Rangers following. The Pirates come in with the seventh-highest rated farm system.
The Bucs have five players in the Top 100. Last year’s top draft choice, catcher Henry Davis is number 20. This year’s top pick, infielder Termarr Johnson, is 30th. Pitcher Quinn Priester is rated number 47, shortstop Liover Peguero is 65th, and second baseman Nick Gonzalez is 99th. After those five, the rest of the Pirates’ top ten minor leaguers are catcher Endy Rodriguez, pitcher/shortstop Bubba Chandler, and pitchers Mike Burrows, Anthony Solometo, and Thomas Harrington.

Altoona opens a six-game series at Bowie tonight. Quinn Priester gets the start for the Curve, who have won 9 of their last 11 games. The Curve lost five out of six to Bowie the last time the two teams played last month.
