The Steelers will wrap up preparations today for tomorrow night’s preseason opener, when they host the Seattle Seahawks.
Coach Mike Tomlin says it will be exciting to finally play a game.
Tomlin says the Steelers hope to learn a lot about their team overall, and young players in particular, tomorrow night.
The coach is eager to see first round draft pick Kenny Pickett in game action. He says he hopes Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph can show something by seeing live game action.
The Steelers had an active, very physical practice yesterday and it included defensive tackle Tyson Alualu, who took part in team activities for the first time in training camp.
Wide receiver Diontae Johnson returned to work along with tight end Pat Freiermuth, but wideout Chase Claypool and tight end Zach Gentry both sat out nursing injuries. Kevin Dotson was also out, as were Najee Harris and Benny Snell.
The Steelers signed former Falcons wide receiver and special teams ace Christian Blake yesterday and waived/injured wide receiver Javon McKinley.
You’ll hear tomorrow’s game on WDAD, FM 100.3 and AM 1450, with the pregame scheduled for 5 o’clock, and kickoff at 7.
