The Penguins yesterday announced the hiring of former NHL defenseman Chris Butler as a player development coach, recently-retired defenseman Greg Pateryn as a pro scout primarily focused on NHL Western Conference teams, and former Blues scout Garrett Peters as a global crossover scout for amateur talent in North America and Europe.
The Pens also announced that former defenseman and NHL assistant coach Sheldon Brookbank has been hired as an assistant at Wilke-Barre/Scranton.
The team also made several promotions in the front office.
