Pennsylvania State Police recently released data from a special detail from last week.
On Wednesday, members Troop A conducted a Move Over Law enforcement detail along the Route 22 corridor in Indiana and Westmoreland counties, and report five citations and two warnings for Move Over Law violations. In addition, troopers report that 13 citations and three warnings for speeding violations were issued, along with one citation for an inspection violation.
The detail was part of the “Six-State Trooper Project” that focuses on enforcing the Move Over Law in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. The law requires stresses highway safety and requires drivers to move over when they see/hear emergency vehicles approaching on state roadways.
The project went into effect July 17th.
