The Pirates have suddenly turned hot on the road, with another win last night in Miami.
Joe Block has the recap.
The Pirates and Marlins will hook up for the third game of the four-game series tonight in Miami. JT Brubaker [2-8, 4.34 ERA] gets the start for the Bucs against the Marlins’ Pablo Lopez [6-4, 2.91 ERA]. Airtime on WCCS is 6:15.
The Pirates elevated outfielder Greg Allen to Triple-A Indianapolis after a rehab stint with Low-A Bradenton. Allen would have been the starting left fielder this season for the Pirates but for a hamstring injury suffered in the last game of Spring Training.
ALTOONA CURVE
Altoona played sloppy baseball from the start last night and lost to Richmond, 6-4. The Curve’s Carmen Mlodzinski gave up five runs in the top of the first inning on two hits, a walk, two hit batters, and an error by third baseman Andres Alvarez. The Curve had 11 hits and left 10 on base. Liover Peguero was 2-for-2 with two walks, while Jared Triolo went 2-for-5.
Right-hander Kyle Nicolas gets the start for the Curve in an afternoon game today. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05.
