No longer will fans hear Bill Hillgrove say “From Heinz Field, this is the Steelers Radio Network,” while listening to games on WDAD 100.3 FM and AM 1450 this year. Instead, you’ll hear something different.
Reports came out this morning that the home of the Steelers will now be called Acrisure Stadium after the ketchup giant Heinz announced that it will not extend its stadium-naming rights for the upcoming season. Heinz held naming rights since 2001 when the stadium first opened and there’s no word if it will continue to sponsor other things within the stadium.
An official announcement is expected to come out as early as tomorrow.
Acrisure is an insurance brokerage firm based out of Michigan.
