The Altoona Curve won their second straight game on Wednesday, beating the Harrisburg Senators, 8-3, thanks to elite pitching from RHP Carmen Mlodzinski.
Mlodzinski earned the win after tossing six innings of one-run ball while collecting a season-high eight strikeouts in the game. Relievers Tahnaj Thomas and Bear Bellomy held down the fort through the final three innings.
The Curve were led offensively by Blake Sabol, who hit his eighth home run of the season in the eighth. He finished the game 2-for-3. Andres Alvarez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Matt Gorski went 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs.
Altoona looks to start a three-game winning streak tonight against the Senators as they send RHP Kyle Nicolas (0-2, 4.15 ERA) to the mound.
First pitch is 6 p.m.
