A Penguins prospect is leaving the organization to play overseas. Former second-round pick Kasper Bjorkqvist has signed a two-year contract to play in Finland’s top league.
The Finnish forward played six games with Pittsburgh last season, and has appeared in 65 games with Wilkes-Barre over the past three seasons. The Penguins can retain his NHL rights by giving the restricted free agent a qualifying offer.
