Abigail Hancox of Albion was confirmed earlier today during the board of governors meeting. She is a dean’s list student and a member of the IUP Student Legislative Advocacy Team. On top of that, she is also president of IUP’s Student Government Association, and will continue in this role until May of 2023.
Hancox said she is eager to get to work for the PASSHE board of governors.
She is one of three student members selected from the SGA presidents of the 14 member universities. They are chosen by state house and senate majority and minority leaders, the governor or a designee, and the state secretary of education. Hancox was nominated by IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll. She will serve on the board of governors until she graduates.
