Pitt basketball coach Jeff Capel has gotten a commitment from a big-time high school point guard. The only problems with Dior Johnson are he’s committed to two other Power 5 schools in the past, and he has played for ten high schools. The 6-foot-3 Johnson played his senior year of high school ball for Southern California Academy in Santa Clarita, California.
Johnson is rated the number-seven point guard in the class of ’22. He committed to Syracuse in 2020 and with Oregon this year, but de-committed when Oregon’s point guard returned to school after applying for the NBA draft, and they recruited two other guards off the transfer portal.
Capel has recruited three other high schoolers to Pitt this offseason and also signed six players off the transfer portal.
