The Steelers yesterday officially announced that Omar Khan will succeed the retiring Kevin Colbert as the team’s General Manager.
Khan, who served as the team’s Vice President of Football and Business Administration, was announced as the new GM by owner Art Rooney II shortly after 7 p.m. last night. Rooney called Khan “an integral part of our football operations department during his 21 years with the team,” and that his experience will help serve him in his new position.
In a statement, Khan said that he is “ready for this challenge,” and that he looks forward to building another championship team in the years to come.
Khan will be the team’s GM through the 2026 season, and he will be formally introduced at a news conference tomorrow at 10 a.m.
His supporting cast will consist of former Eagles vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl, who was hired as the team’s assistant GM and was one of the candidates for the main GM position, and former Detroit Lions vice president of player personnel Sheldon White.
White is the father of WR Cody White and reportedly accepted the deal with the Steelers yesterday morning, however the team has not made his hire official yet.

A lawsuit involving former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is moving forward. That’s after a judge refused to toss the case or move it to arbitration. Gruden sued last year after he resigned as the Raiders head coach following racist emails that became public. Gruden says the NFL was behind the leak of the emails. As he was leaving court, Gruden said he’s “going to let the process take care of itself.”
