With the NFL Draft officially in the rear view mirror, the Steelers continued their hunt for the successor of General Manager Kevin Colbert with second-round interviews this week.
Yesterday, the team announced that Pro Scouting Coordinator and former IUP player Brandon Hunt had his second interview for the soon-to-be vacant GM role. Hunt joined the Steelers in 2010 and has worked in his role with the front office since joining. He graduated IUP in 2003.
Other candidates who received second-round interviews include: current vice president of football and business operations Omar Khan, former Buffalo Bills GM Doug Whaley, Andy Weidl, John Spytek and Ryan Cowden. Analyst Louis Reddick is reportedly “out” of the Steelers GM hunt after signing a new deal with ESPN to call NFL games.
Colbert’s contract is set to expire on May 31, and it’s unclear if third-round interviews will take place.
