DISTRICT VI BASEBALL PLAYOFFS
The Marion Center Stingers ran off with the lead late in the game after taking down West Branch, 9-7, in their first game of the District VI Class AA playoffs on Thursday.
The game was tied at six in the heading into the bottom of the fifth, but the Stingers forced West Branch to commit two errors and capitalized on them by plating two runs to put them ahead for good.
Braden Reichenbach led the Stingers to victory on the mound after tallying eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Parker Black earned the save after entering out of the bullpen to get the last three outs.
Black also led Marion Center’s offensive attack after going 3-for-4 at the plate. Ty Ryen also posted a multi-hit game.

Indiana will play on Monday, May 23rd in the semifinal round against No. 2 seed Quaker Valley, who beat North Hills, 14-4, yesterday.
