The Marion Center School District announced yesterday that its high school gymnasium will be dedicated in honor of a former faculty member of more than 50 years.
In a Facebook post, the district, along with the Marion Center Area Boosters Organization, will conduct a dedication of the high school gymnasium in honor of Donald D. Seanor this Saturday at 1 p.m.
Seanor was involved with the Marion Center School District for more than 50 years acting as a physical education teacher, assistant athletic director and substitute teacher. He also was the varsity boys’ basketball coach for many years, including the 1978-79 Stingers team that saw the program’s best season in school history.
Superintendent Clint Weimer said that Seanor embodies the pride of Marion Center.
The dedication will take place in the gymnasium and it is free and open to the public with light refreshments available.
