Henry Davis smacked a two-run home run for his first hit with Altoona last night. The Curve went on to a 4-3 win. Davis drove the ball 407 feet over the left field wall and out of the stadium in the fifth inning. He was 1-for-2 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch on the night. Third baseman Jared Triolo was 3-for-4 for the Curve.
Pirates pitcher Duane Underwood Jr. threw a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance for the Curve, giving up a hit and a walk. Afterward, he said he is ready to return to the Bucs. He’s been out since pulling a hamstring in the Pirates first game of the season.
The Curve plays its first “Education Day” game of the season this morning at 11 AM. Kyle Nicolas will start for Altoona.
