The Penguins took a 4-1 lead after one period last night, allowed the Rangers to tie it in the second period, then scored the final three goals to win game three of their Stanley Cup playoff series.
Paul Steigerwald recaps the see-saw battle.
The Penguins have lost goaltender Casey DeSmith for the remainder of the playoffs. DeSmith left the first game of the series in the second overtime (the Penguins won the game in three overtimes). The team announced that he had core muscle surgery on Friday.
Louis Domingue inherited the net when DeSmith went down, but All-Star goaltender Tristan Jarry could conceivably come back during the playoffs. He skated yesterday morning in full gear for the first time since suffering a reported broken foot on April 14th.
Forward Jason Zucker returned to the lineup last night. He’d been out injured April 26th against Edmonton.
